On-campus Student Evaluation

The University surveys and analyses student evaluations of teaching in every course in every semester.

Student evaluations are rated on a 5 point Likert scale, except for Question 11 which rates staff members' overall teaching performance on a 7 point scale.

This questionnaire can be adapted for your university as an assessment system for all courses and publishing the results of all courses in each question and semester

Q1	The lecturer made clear the objectives for each session
Q2	The lecturer was able to explain concepts clearly
Q3	The lecturer seemed well prepared for each session
Q4	The lecturer taught the subject matter in a way which helped me understand it
Q5	The lecturer tried to make the course interesting
Q6	The lecturer demonstrated the relevance of the course to the whole program
Q7	The lecturer made opportunities to ask questions
Q8	The lecturer was available for consultation
Q9	The lecturer structured the sessions in a logical way
Q10	The lecturer gave adequate feedback on assignments and other prescribed work
Q11	All things considered, (on a 7 point scale of 1 to 7) how would you rate the teaching of the lecturer in this course?
COURSE
Q12	The course covered what the course description said it would
Q13	The criteria used to assess student work were clear
Q14	Assessment tasks allowed me to demonstrate what I had learnt
Q15	The workload was comparable to other courses at this level
Except for Q11, items are rated on a 5 point scale ranging from 1 (low) to 5 (high).
